Studio Lowsheen recently featured an in-depth look at our forthcoming book, The Soulful House: Stories of Beauty, Belonging, and the Spirit of Home, due out with Rizzoli this September. The piece gets at what the book is really about: not a portfolio of finished rooms, but a collection of individual stories — houses shaped as much by the people who live in them as by the land they sit on. The projects move through an unusually wide geography, from Kiawah Island and Nova Scotia to the Dominican Republic and the Tennessee River, and between them run a set of principles we return to again and again: restraint, proportion, balance, context, emotion, form and detail. It’s a book about what makes a house feel like it belongs to someone, and to somewhere. Read the full feature at Studio Lowsheen →
